Li Zhang M.D. Associate Professor and Deputy-Chief of the Department of Medical Oncology.
    Dr. Zhang received his M.D. in Medical Department from Sun Yat-Sen University of Medical Sciences (SUMS) in 1986. He worked as resident doctor from 1987-1991, and from 1991-1996 as attending doctor in the Cancer Center. From l986 to1987, he completed his residence training course in internal Medicine at first Affiliated Hospital of SUMS. He completed his attending doctor continuing education courses in SUMS in 1993. He received GCP principles training in institut Gustave Rrossy (IGR) in Paris for 1 month in1996. Now he is Associate Professor. In the clinical practice, He focused his mind on the treatment of Nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) which is high incidence in Southern part of China. He conducted clinical trial on chemotherapy of NPC with particular focus on induction Chemotherapy (Neo-adjuvant). He also tries to use some new drugs in treatment of NPC (Phase 11 clinic trials of Carboplatium, Novantrone, and Epirubicine in the treatment of NPC). As our cancer center is the national antitumor drug evaluation center, He also participated many new drugs clinical trials (phase I and Phase II clinic trail G-CSF; Navelbine, Taxotere, in the treatment of advanced NSCLC Phase II clinic trial, etc). As time elapsed and experiences cumulated, He is now familiar with the process of drug evaluation. From his work, He has learned a great deal about planinng, designing, analyzing of clinical trial. Other than these works, He had applied for two national grants concerned about early diagnosis of cancer and drug evaluations. He had published 8 articles in this field.
